Empowering Women

We are almost a decade into the twenty first century. But it's still common to hear our domestic helps in India lament about how unlucky she is for being burdened with daughters. Stories on victims of dowry abuse and female infanticide still appear in the News. While one side of India proudly churns out women engineers and entrepreneurs, the other side still struggles, battling against age-old superstitious and irrelevant social stigmas that continue to negatively bolster the already strong patriarchal society.

Over the past year, Anand Charity has made tremendous progress as an organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Indians."Live, Love, Laugh, " our founders said, when they started the charity as a way to give back to India. "Live, Love, Laugh" has since been Anand Charity's tagline. We have always looked at newer, more powerful ways to reach out to more Indians worldwide, to spread our message, and to enable them to help the less fortunate. Recognizing the power of the world-wide web, we have now given our blog a new avatar - Live, Love, Laugh - with a broader theme, and a bigger appeal.
