Project Rajugela Updates

India School Fund (ISF), a non-profit organization started by five Harvard Business School students, has been running a school at Rajugela village of Uttar Pradesh. On a request from ISF, Anand Charity has approved a grant of $4525 to build a Kitchen facility at the school and provide daily meals for 250 children of the school. Anand Charity will contribute to 50% of the construction cost and 75% of the meal cost for an entire school year. The kitchen will also serve as a meeting room for teachers and supervisors and will serve as a storage for the raw materials.

Anand Charity had released a first installment of $1600 earlier this year. The remaining installments will be released upon reviewing the progress. Currently, 80% of the structure has been completed and is expected to be ready before mid-August. While the kitchen is being constructed, the meal programme will commence from the home of a community member. Anand Charity is stead-fast in its commitment towards improving the educational quality of rural India and providing mid-day meals is an important step in the right direction. Anand Charity sincerely thanks ISF and Ms. Vandita Tewari for ensuring that the children of Rajugela village get one nutritious meal per day.
